Information
Ellie’s BRUCELLA cELISA is a qualitative test based on competitive ELISA technology. Plates are coated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) extracted from Brucella abortus bacteria. Any anti-Brucella antibodies present in the sample will compete with LPS-specific, mouse anti-Brucella monoclonal antibodies on the LPS-specific binding site. Antibodies against LPS are indicative of infection with a smooth Brucella biovar.
The Brucella cELISA can be used for confirmatory or screening testing in vaccinated and non-vaccinated populations. It can also be used as a supplemental tool with the Brucella FPA in mass testing campaigns. The Brucella cELISA is a robust product that is versatile, highly sensitive, and specific. It can test multiple species, including cattle, sheep, and goats.

The test is based on the Brucella LPS antigen and an anti-Brucella LPS monoclonal antibody. It is fully compliant with applicable EU regulations (EU Council Directive 64/432/EEC, Annex C). It is recommended for eradication and control purposes, usually as a confirmatory test and when various species need to be tested.
